“Giving bread a second life was my worry all along.” These are the words of Luigi Picerno, a visionary entrepreneur at the head of an ever-growing company. Today Bruschetta di Altamura® and Crostini Tozzapane®, the company’s two flagship products, account for “70 percent of the company’s sales. Before, no one had thought of bringing a pivotal product of Apulian tradition, bread, to the tables of Italians in a different guise and without distorting it. PanBiscò saw this coming and pioneered ‘bread substitutes,’ creating a pantry snack in step with the times and the needs of the modern consumer: a healthy, practical, versatile, healthy product. Moreover, an aspect not to be underestimated, both Bruschetta and Crostini contribute to the reduction of food waste.
Zero preservatives, they can be eaten by everyone: condiments include extra virgin olive oil, salt and oregano, like homemade bruschetta.
Picerno’s foresight began way back in the years when he decided to introduce the bread slicer (before then used only for bacon) and now found in all grocery stores and bakeries.
